True. With Timefreeze we will stimulate your ovaries to obtain a minimum of 9 oocytes for freezing, thus ensuring that the day you want to get pregnant you will have a number of eggs available with the same quality that they have today. For how long will you be able to have access to them in vitrified form? The law is clear; you can preserve your frozen eggs throughout your childbearing age.
“he cryopreservation of oocytes (…) may be prolonged until such time as deemed by the treating physicians (…) that the recipient does not meet the clinical requirements appropriate to the performance of the assisted reproduction technique”.
Spanish Law 14/2006 on Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques
According to the law, you will be able to have access to your frozen eggs for as long as the doctors judge that you can follow an assisted reproduction treatment.
When can I freeze my eggs?
Women’s fertility begins to deteriorate sharply after the age of 35, and for this reason it is recommended that egg freezing should be done between 30 and 35. Thus, when the frozen eggs are used at some time in the future to generate embryos and are then transferred back to the woman’s uterus to achieve pregnancy, as they have been frozen at an early age they will have a greater chance of success.
The day you want to use your eggs, they will be inseminated with semen from your partner or a donor by an in vitro fertilization treatment. Once fertilization has taken place, and after generating the embryo, it will be transferred to your uterus to continue its normal development.
Maintenance of the oocytes
Once the treatment has been started and the oocytes have been frozen, you will be able to preserve them in vitrified form without cost for a period of four years. After this time, the annual amount for the maintenance of the oocyte cryopreservation will be €250 per year. From that fifth year, we will consult you on an annual basis as to what you would like to do with them.
